Day 44: I Could Dance

“Oh I’m so mad I’m getting old

It makes me restless”

-“When We Were Young” by Adele

The stiffness of her joints had long been a frustration; she couldn’t dance anymore. She sat on her couch, too weak to protest as the hospice nurse reattached her oxygen tubes. Her blank stare laid on the urn on the mantlepiece, remembering strong arms and flying about the dance floor, and she wished for the thousandth time he was here. It would make wanting to dance again so much less painful.
