This poem is the third in a series of poems I wrote based on the work of Seamus Heaney, a poet I studied in IB English. (You can read the first and second poems as well). This poem is based on his poem “The Skunk”. Unrealized Pale tips, purpled, they clench The pen: my life… Continue reading Unrealized
This poem is the second in a series of poems I wrote in response to the poetry of Seamus Heaney, which we studied in my English class recently. (Read the first poem here). This poem is based on Heaney’s poem “Oysters”, though I think it also has a lot in common with “The Underground”. Pursuit The… Continue reading Pursuit
This poem is the first in a series I wrote for my English class based on prompts about the poetry of Seamus Heaney. Heaney was a Nobel-prize winning Irish poet who dealt with struggles of identity and politics during the Troubles in Northern Ireland and in the tense political climate before and after. It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve written here- probably because it has been! Though as I write this I’m looking at a coating of snow on the eaves of my house, I know that spring is almost here. Hello, everyone! I know I’ve been a gone for a long time, and I’m so, so sorry! School has been a tremendous amount of work this semester and I’ve found little time for anything else. Next semester should be better, though, and I have written a few things up. Be on the lookout for a short story and some book reviews within the next few months!
Today, I need help. For a school project, I’ve created a survey on educational standards. It’s very, very short. Could everyone please take just five minutes to fill this survey out, and share it around on your blogs/with your friends? It would really help me out! In thanks, I’ll try and get my short story up next week sometime.
Here’s the link to my survey! I really appreciate your help!

Read my review below and check out the rest of the Collectible for great content. Now that Harry’s story is truly over, I regret not joining in on… Continue reading On The Shelf: A Review of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
I can’t even begin to describe the levels of anxiety I went through waiting for The Raven King, the last of Maggie Stiefvater’s brilliant Raven Cycle, to be released. I first encountered this magical series in June 2015. After reading the first book, I was hooked! But, alas, the last book wasn’t due to be released… Continue reading Book Unboxing and Review: The Raven King
